Real Women Word Art Freebie !

Isn't that the truth ! I needed a birthday card for a dear friend.
We've shared many good times and a few sad tears over a good glass of wine. The years have flown by and it's more like coffee or tea now but we can still empty a bottle between the two of us when the occasion calls.
I hope you can use this word art in your projects. It's a 5" by 5" print out. I reduced it to
3" by 3" for my inside layer and it worked great. Don't save this preview. It has a watermark.
Pop over to 4 shared to get the correct size.

Owl gift tag and circle wordart Owl freebie !

I crafted a gift tag to go along with the owl I made yesterday for the owl hat
I'll be gifting to a friend's little one . I made a colored digistamp out of the paper crafted owl on the owl card and added circle word art. It completely matches the card. So cute !
I'm offering the circle sentiment with colored owl as a freebie . I'm attaching a 3" file and a 2" file.
For this gift tag I printed the 2" file on cardstock and used a 2 "circle punch to cut it out . You can use a 2" circle of any kind to cut it out. You don't need a scrapbook punch. I pop dotted that to a 2 1/2 " circle and taped that to a 3" scalloped circle . I punched a small hole and added the ribbon. It took me just a few minutes.
You can get the files at 4 shared. PNG, PU, 300 DPI

The 3" file is ....  Here
The 2" file is ..... Here

Sorry, no CU just Personal Use for your crafting projects . Credit to SugarPawScraps is appreciated.
I hope you can use the cute little owl colored digistamp I made . I'd love to hear from you if you do.

Owl card and a word art freebie !

I made some word art to go with an owl card I made. Inside the card is decorated and I wrote " I do, that's Whooooo". I will be giving an owl hat as a gift to a little boy. Making
handmade cards or simple note cards are not difficult at all . It's best to start simple and before you know it you'll
grow creatively. It can be addicting. Everyone loves the handmade cards !
This 5" card was made using DSWV Linen Closet and I used an owl paper template I found online. I printed my word art and cut in half to separate the sentiment. I choose not to color my word art but the font is open enough to do so.
The freebie zip file includes a 4" and a 3" printable word art files. Don't save the above watermarked preview wordart. Go to 4 shared to get the proper size.

You can get your freebie Word art .....HERE

If you make a card using the word art, please come back and show me.

STOP back tomorrow because I will offer a matching owl circle sentiment as a freebie that will match this owl card. I used it on the gift tag. Turned out cute !

I totally CASED this card design. I saw a beauty online by Kristen at Lilsweetpeasplace

their sweet great grandma .

This anniversary card was made with DCWV Bella Armoire designer
paper stack. It's such a pretty design of papers ! The inside of the
card panels are decorated also using the black and ivory dotted paper
and a pretty center journal piece included in the stack.
I made a Happy Anniversary digi-stamp to fit inside the 2" Spellbinders oval .
I'm offering it as a freebie for those that can use it. I darkened the digi
for better printing clarity as you can see in the preview at 4 shared. There
is room to add your own year or just print as is .

Necklace card and Scroll Journal Freebie

My beautiful daughter's birthday is today . I incorporated a necklace into
her birthday card. One of the layers is a pocket where I hid
the chain. She can just pull
it out later to wear it. In the picture one of the top pearls popped off
the circle die cut and I
added it back later after I noticed it missing. I've found out you need to
glue those tiny pearls
to some cardstocks. I decorated the inside also with matching paper
and made a scroll journal
piece to write a few words. I'm trying to teach myself calligraphy.
It's way harder than it looks !
If you'd like the scroll journal for inside a 5 inch card , you can get it

HERE

The journal lines are faint. If you want a bold line, this one might not be
for you.

First Day School card and a freebie !

I saw a card design I really liked one day . The card markers name was Wendy
from Kingstons Kreations blog. Her apple card was from a Cricut cartridge I believe.
I made this one for my grand daughter on her first day
of school. I cut the apple card base as best as I could just using my scissors. Those
seeds took longer than the base.
I thought I'd offer you the sentiment I made for inside the smallest Spellbinders oval.
I'm still stuck on the Summertime font. I need to change it up next time.:-)
The inside of card has a free printable subway art from sweetcoconutlime Blog reduced
to 3 inches.

Anywho, you can download the small png file ....HERE

I also wanted to RAVE about the new No Shim Embossing Mat for Cuddlebug. Mine
finally arrived in the mail and I love, LOVE, LOVE it. Nothing
else is needed to emboss after the cut but this mat and the 2 B's. TERRIFIC product !

It's storming here in the mitten ! Perfect day to make cards unless we lose power.

Happy First Day of School digi Freebie

My sweet granddaughter goes back to school here soon . I wanted to send
her a treat for her lunch bag. Inside the card box is a 1.8 oz box of
Good and Plenty and a note from grandma :-) It's our favorite candy to
share together once in awhile. I made the digi stamp for the 2" punch .
I thought I'd share it with you . It looks cute with the scallop punch .
The double punched circle would look just as cute glued to a sucker  or
any thing in their lunch bag actually.

Baby Bottle Card and freebie

I needed a baby card for a family member , so I looked around till
I found one I wanted to CASE. It came from sandrasscrapsels blog .
Her whole blog is awesome!! The card turned out so cute !
The first picture is the front . I cut out a baby bottle card using a template
and just decorated with baby boy designer paper from Martha Stewart.
The second picture I added the poem on one side and made a
diaper to hold the Babies R Us gift card.
The back is decorated also but I forgot to snap a picture. I had to
custom make an envelope to fit and just wrapped it all in a big blue bow.
I had made a Sweet Baby text to fit an oval punch but did not use it .
 Maybe you can.

Freebie Sympathy sentiment for A2 card

Today I had to make a pet sympathy card for a good friend that lost her
yorkie to illness the other day. If you look close enough you'll find a tear
stain or two. :-(  It's a bit similar to the human sympathy card I made the
other day but I changed it up to make it pet themed.

I have a detailed post at Taggerpaws , if you're interested in what I used.
I wrote a short tutorial on how I print out these borders also.
Pop over and take a look.
There are two freebie sentiments there that match the card above.
She will be Remembered and He will be Remembered. They fit
the smallest oval Spellbinders die.

The other freebie today is With Sympathy . It was used in the human
sympathy card I made yesterday.

Two Free Borders

Since the A2 size card borders are going so well, I have two more

see them larger. One says "Enjoy your day" and the other
says "Happy Birthday to you" with a music note.
They will print out 4"by 5" and they are png transparent,
so print them on any color or patterned cardstock you
want. They really dress up a card nicely.
If you'd like a custom made one, contact me at
my email addy here and I'll give you a price via PayPal.
I can make one to say Happy Birthday to "insert name here".
The kids will like to see their names printed on a card, I'm sure.

These borders are for A2 size handmade cards but can be used
in any smaller digital projects .

Free Happy Birthday A2 border

I made a Happy Birthday border for an A2 size card today.
I placed it on some digital paw print paper, so you can see how it will
print when using your own colored or patterned cardstock. The file is png (transparent except for text) for that reason. It will print 4" by 5 " to
fit an A2 size card.
Font size is 60. The file will not have the paw print background
paper when you download it from 4 shared. Personal Use only please.
300 DPI for quality print.

OK......I'm back again !
I made up a simple pet card which shows the border printed out
on a finished card. If you're like me you need a
visual of what the printable file will look like . I printed the
border on the same digital pawprint paper as shown above.
The inside is finished with distressed chipboard that spells
WOOF !
Come back and show me what you made if you can use it !
There are other FREEBIES and CARDS on the right side under LABELS.
I have also posted a paw and bone border for an A2 card over at my other blog

Happy Birthday DigiStamp / Cowboy Boot Card

I put together this cowboy boot shaped
birthday card for my brother. I saw something similar
online once. I did an internet search for a cowboy boot template.
It's so cute ! I made a Happy Birthday digistamp to fit
inside a Spellbinders nesting labels #8. I might dress up the inside
a bit more. It looks too plain. I still have time before I pop
it in the mail. The design paper is from a digital kit I printed using textured
card stock. The kit is called " I wanna be a Cowboy". I followed
a recent tutorial posted online on making 3D stars for the center.

Happy Birthday Papa Digistamp /Apron Card

I made a card for my hubby's birthday this weekend. My inspiration
was a super card I saw called Pops BBQ by Robbie for MelJen's challenge.
I used what I had on hand , changed it a bit and it turned out very cute.
I thought I'd pass along a Happy Birthday Papa sentiment
to those that would like it. It will print out
2" by 1.29 ". It looks cute cut apart, layered and distressed. The
file is PNG so you can print it out on any color cardstock.
The papers I used for the apron card is Americana by K & Co.
The inside of the card is decorated also in the same paper pack.
I had no template for the spatula. It is a bit weird looking but hubby
won't care. :-)

Declaration of Independence Background /4th of July Card with coffee sleeve

I made a card for an Independence Day birthday and I needed a script background paper. I was inspired by a blogger for the American flag using cardboard. I have her name written down somewhere. I will add her name when I find it.
I went to an American history page and found the Declaration of Independence . I hope it's considered public domain. I reduced it and cropped it for background paper. It will print 4 by 5 for A2 size card. If you ink and distress it looks really cool ! Glued on top of the script paper is a Starbucks coffee sleeve I decorated and added a Starbucks gift card inside the sleeve . Designer paper is Americana paper pack
by K and Co.
Feel free to get the Declaration of Independence background to use

I needed a simple rectangle digistamp for cards . I was tired of my

my blog friends would like to have it too. Just print, cut and write
your own name.
One prints out 3.9 "w by 1.3 " H. The smaller one prints out
roughly 2" w by .6" high which was perfect printed on cardstock,
trimmed, framed in a different color and adhered to the back bottom
of the card. Click each image to open a new window with larger size

Spring Easel Card

I've got Spring fever ! I'm ready for some warm air
coming this way. We still have about 5 weeks of cold, snow, wind
and ice to muddle through here in the mitten. I'll
have to settle for spring color and fun images till then.
I made an easel card using Meljen Designs . The minute I saw this
digistamp I loved it. Learning to color with markers has been
a challenge for me. I'm all about the digital design coloring so
adding color by hand using a marker is not easy.
There is no *undo* option ! You are stuck with your
mistake or have to start all over again which is a bit
frustrating.
Click on the image for detail.
Here is what I used:
Johnny Boots Spring Digistamp and Tulip line sentiment by MelJen Designs.
Digi frame by Kim B Designs which was fussy cut by hand and for
some dimension foam dots were added. Both digistamps were
colored with prisma markers.
Card base is textured paper by Colorbok
Pattern paper by Doodlebug Design ....Easter assortment
Misc Buttons, pearls, ribbon embellishments. There is a tutorial
for making the korker ribbons for cards ( and most
anything korker) under Labels or Here.
Glass Effects and gelly pens.

I have entered this card into Meljens Challenge # 48.
It's a first for me other than a card share at Meljen's.

Spring is right around the corner ! I just know it :-)

Grunge card

I love the grunge look. I love prim country also. I just made
a pin cushion using one of my antique spools that turned out cute.
While I was in that mode, I decided to make a grunge card
for a friend. I started with Kraft colored paper by The Paper Co.
I stamped swirls in Chestnut all over the paper. Using Versamark pad,
I stamped swirls again and heat embossed with clear emboss powder.
I distressed all around the edges and inked .
The flower petals are Sizzix, inked with Holtz
vintage photo and perfect pearls. Butterfly punch is Martha Stewart.
Vine is Sizzix, inked with Tim Holtz vintage photo and forest moss.
Buttons , burlap ribbon, glitters and glass effects
here and there. Click on image for closer detail .
Even though I made a messy inky mess, this card was the most fun to make.

Korker Flower Curls Tutorial

I've been asked by a blogger friend to do a tutorial with more detail
on how to do the little korker curls I used in the Mother's day
card flower. They are very easy. I thought a picture would tell the tale better.
Click on image above for better detail.
You can use jewelers cord, scrappers floss, silk flower wire, etc.
I used the sparkle cord up above. I applied the stiffener to the thread using
a q tip on a piece of copy paper. When it was still wet I rolled it
on a thin round stick or dowel. In the pic I used a thin paint brush.
I secured the ends with plastic clamps I found in the hardware
section of a grocery store. Michael's has small crafters clothes pins
that work great too. I let it dry overnight and it all comes off in a
stiff spiral. Cut what you need for your projects.
I had some white silk flower wire. I colored the wire using a pink ballet
prismacolor marker. I wrapped it around the thin dowel and it made a
nice korker curl. You don't need stiffener, of course, because of the inner wire.
They are a tad picky to touch but they look good too.
It's the bottom pink korker curl in the picture.
The little ribbon korkers for paper cardmaking use the same technique .
Although for hair bows, you need to heat set the curls .
I learned how to make ribbon hair bow korkers
for my granddaughters Here.
Easy Peasy !

Mother's Day Card

I just finished a Mother's Day card for my sweet Mom. She'll
be 89 next month. I've been wanting to make a few more flowers
using ribbon, so this was a good opportunity. The center rosette
I glued and wrapped around my piercer. The outer ribbons I
stitched around one side and pulled the threads together
to form circles. The curly q's I made using sparkle thread
I bought by the jewelry crafts dept.To stiffen use fabric stiffener
and wrap around a thin rod. I used
a thin paint brush handle. Secure the ends with very small clothes pins
and set it aside till it all dries. When making the bow korkers
for hair bows , it's better to heat them in a low heat oven but for cards
just having them air dry works well.
Paper by Colorbox, Spellbinder fancy tags, Martha Stewart
doily edge punch and assorted leaf punches, ribbons,
pearls , Tim Holtz inks and Glossy accents here and there.
Click on image to see more details.
Is it Spring Yet ????? I'm so tired of snow, snow, snow and more
snow.

St Patrick's Day pull tag card

Target had metallic gold foil paper by Colorbok
just begging to be made into a pot of gold card
with gold coins. Yes, you can run coins through
the Cuttlebug ! I tried anyway and it worked. Just use a Spellbinders
pad over the coin and paper before adding
the top B plate. I wasn't real happy with the way they came out and wished
I had some real gold chocolate coins instead. I'll save some from Christmas
stockings next year.
I used a 3 " circle punch for the pot, 3 " oval for the rim with a 2 1/2 "
gold foil oval for the inside of the rim. I used my craft cutter to make a
slit in the gold oval for the tag to slide through.
The bun feet for the pot is 1" circles. The shamrocks are
smallest EK Success punched hearts glued together . I used the gold
paper for the buckle punch also. When you pull the shamrocks tag up it's
stamped Hugs and Kisses in Tim Holtz forest green.
I wish I had a Kiss Me stamper instead. Things to watch for next year.

My 2nd beautiful granddaughter will turn 1 year old soon. My how
the time flies by. I made her card using a digital image I have had
since 2009 when it was offered as a freebie. The digital
image I used is by an awesome designer Kim B Designs .
She is such a sweetheart. When I asked Kim if I could
use her designs to make clusters or QP's for my blogs
Taggerpaws and Sugarpawscraps she said yes with
pleasure. Check out her blog if you love digital design !
I used Kim's Happy Cow kit for the birthday cow
image and some of the digital papers included in the kit.
The other paper scraps are
by Imaginisce All Kinds of Happy. I used liquid pearls,
glossy accents for shine, lots of glitter , stickles, liquid applique for
the frosting, pretty gem stones and metal flower stickers,
Spellbinder oval die and assorted punches for tag
and hearts .
This card was so much fun to make. Just looking at
Kim's happy cow holding a cupcake put a smile on my face.

A butterfly shaped card

I wanted to try my hand at designing a butterfly card template, so
I opened my Paint Shop Pro software and messed around with vector
shapes. I know digital scrapbooking much better than paper scrapping.
Using heart vectors and eclipse I came up with this template.
I used pearlized card stock , liquid pearls and a massive amount of
pretty glitter. The antenna took me a few tries using black scrappers
floss, glue to shape and stiffen plus black liquid pearl drops.
I used a sweet sentiment from Meljen Designs . I just love her
artwork. I'm looking forward to making another card using her
awesome digistamps.
I'm sending this one to a friend. The inside simple says Thank you .
Thanks for viewing my card. I'm learning quite a lot as time goes by.
I really enjoy making these cards for those I love. I'm going to

If Love... word art freebie !

As I mentioned in a previous post, I embellished the inside of my

I used it in gold to match the card but I also have it in black.

Lollipop flower basket

Today at thedigichick.com there was a tutorial for a lollipop
basket. Hers is adorable and much more professional looking
than I could ever attempt. I thought I'd try my hand at it anyway.
I did not have the spiral rose
template till the yellow ones. I think those are the best

project to do on a snowy afternoon and the kids will love it !

Freebie Word Art !

Someone asked me where I found the digital word art I used
for my easel valentine card down below. I made it in PSP . I reduced
it just enough to fit the size heart spellbinder nestie I wanted to use .
It's png. You can use any color paper ( but red) to print. It is only
300 by 150 pixels. It is a 1 inch print out for card making.
I colored in the heart using a prisma marker. Please use it if you can.
Credit and a link back to SugarPaw Scraps is very appreciated.

Blizzard and a very simple valentine card

We've been under a blizzard warning since yesterday 7 PM.
So far there has not been a let up in sight. A minute ago
I looked out to see a total white out. Hopefully it's out
of the mitten in a few hours. We'll be digging out all afternoon.
I made a very, very simple valentine card today for hubby.
He is not for all the frou frou. He likes all the cards I make
though but for him I went simple. The speciality paper I used was from
K and Company. Nestie hearts for the pull out tag and a heart sticker
here and there. That's it...easy peasy !
Stay warm. I read the Ground Hog predicts an early spring.
That's a good thought, right ?
